I have a hankering to insure the truck again. Much to the displeasure of my wife. I’m going to drive it down to Bellingham, get some cheap US gas and pickup a package. Maybe in a week or two.

Having 3 vehicles is tough at 26, money is tight at times and I feel bad that my passion is so expensive.

eh i just got told off for trying to talk to the missus whilst she was watching tv (please dont talk over it dear... goes back to playing with phone)

im inclined to side with fuck the missus.. go get that truck insured

(course im not you.. and 5 minutes from now ill be back to liking me missus... but heyo)

Been there and I have to admit I’ve felt the guilt too.

I bought the Montego at 25 or so. Money was tight, then kids came into the picture and a new house and I had plenty of “What am I doing with this car?!” moments. But I remember the extreme excitement in my sons face climbing into the car. And then I went and got interested in RallyX so I know I’ll always have something to work on with my son (and hopefully my daughter will be interested as she gets bigger, she just turned 1). He’s 5 now and wants to be under cars with me. It can be a family thing if you want it to.

My wife isn’t into it really btw. When I sold the Montego she said it was my choice, but that was it for the budget for the Rally car. Whatever I got out of the Montego. Seemed pretty fair.

It’s all about patience and tucking away a tiny bit of cash when you can. I haven’t spent a dime on the Rally Capri in probably 6 months because I just have to accept the cash isn’t available right now. Kid 1 hits kindergarten in the fall and I save a crap load of cash and then I can get that thing out on a RallyX Course

Yeah, its tough. I’m fortunate, but the past year has been full of some pretty severe financial setbacks.

I may do some personal oppo post or something soon on it all.

You gotta find ways. She knew what you were into when she married you, and I’m sure spends money on unnecessary things. (How many pillows are on your couch????)

Just gotta find a balance.

Share what you’re comfortable sharing I’ve always found OPPO to be here when I need it. I had plenty of struggles and ups and downs, thankfully my wife was supportive of me keeping projects because I can be patient and sit on my hands when I need to.

yeah, maybe I will post a thing. It won’t be complainy though, because at the end of the day, I have 3 cars, so bitching about money or that life is unfair would be kinda ridiculous. I am very fortunate and privileged for my life to be where it is at right now

A couple months ago I bought a second scooter, a Honda Elite 80, for $100. My wife was PISSED. She literally didn’t talk to me for 24 hours. A couple weeks later, it came up in conversation that she was upset I spent that much money on something so frivolous.

I said to her, “It was $100. I’ve literally spent more on bourbon for you in the last month.”

Side note: I don’t drink at all. She likes expensive brown liquor. I have no problem with this.

She replied, “Ok, that’s actually a good point.” She let it go, and hasn’t brought it up since.

TL;DR: After 11 years together, I finally won a fight!!!!
